Stopping Quiz Timer

I am using a sequence drag and drop quiz question but don't want to have the question actually graded. I do however want there to be a visible timer which only seems to be possible if i have a results slide (other than inserting a separate video or something like that). As I don't want the student to see the results slide I have the scene skipping over it. However, doing this somehow allows for the timer to continue counting down even after they've completed the quiz. Does anyone know of a way to stop the timer without actually viewing the results slide? Or is this not yet a possibility?
