We generally advise folks to load their content into its intended environment for unencumbered testing. Browser security settings can sometimes hamper local playback; here's an article about publishing and then previewing/sharing your project.
Hi Crystal, Yes - exactly! It took me a few minutes to figure it out as other Flash content we developed still worked and ran without issue, so the Flash security setting wasn't first on my mind. Figured it might be something Windows did since its mucked up other devices and settings with its recent upgrade. Ugh.. always start with the basics I guess for troubleshooting. I usually start there...oh well.
Bob, what are the "basics" anymore? :) Technology and the level of integration of "all the things" really makes that hard. I'm glad we had that information to share with folks when this issue arose! :)

We have the great joy here of trying to please everyone whenever we finish a course as it needs to run across multiple platforms. Always fun.
The typical "basics" for me usually start with the simplest solution... sometimes being in a rush can let you over look the easiest answer to a problem.
My best story revolves around a Ph.D that worked with us. She had a technical issue one morning, her PC wouldn't start and she tried several things but it still didn't start. I took a quick look and everything looked fine, power was on, PC booted and was running. Took a quick glance at her monitor and simply flipped the power switch to "On" and presto, instant display much to her dismay. ; )
