Story size and scaling player viewing
Jul 24, 2019
I've done some reading on what size to make my story, and also done some test publishing at different sizes. I don't anticipate tablet viewing - mainly monitors on laptops/PCs or on big TV / projectors in conference rooms. I've settled onto 1440x810. This seems to be a safe size that it will fit on user screens without being too small to read the text.
My question is around scaling. During my tests, it seems the output is at a fixed size, based on the dimensions input. When viewing published HTML output, even if I resize my browser or try to go full-screen view, I can't change the size of the player within it. Am I missing something? The whole effort trying to identify the right story size would become a lot less important with this ability.

The output is a fixed size by default. If you want to change it, go into the Player properties and set the Player Size to: "Scale to fill browser size."
Player Properties, Custom, Other, Player Size: Scale player to fill browser size.
Great.
So, should I up the story size to have better resolution on bigger screens? It will scale down if the user screen is smaller?
Your story file setup is pretty large and should be ok. If you tested it and it looks good to you on the various devices, just go with it. The scaling option will simply allow it to adjust to a users PC based on their browser window size.
Ok. Thanks. Worked out great.
