Hi I have set my storysize to 1024/768 in the first module of a course. I duplicated the first module and created module 2. Now this is where things go strange, when I preview mod 1 it shows a nice wide slide as per my story size but when I preview mod 2 although the story size is the same and player is the same mod 2 is not as wide and I can't seem to work out why, any ideas?
Hi, Nick -- Thanks so much for reaching out and sorry to hear of your troubles! First, may I ask if you can confirm if you are working locally? As described here, "Working on a network drive or an external (USB) drive can cause erratic behavior due to latency, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources." You may also want to see if importing the problematic file into a new file shows improvement, and can you please confirm that you are also finding this behavior when you test module 2 in the environment where it will ultimately be accessed by learners? Please let us know if that helps or if issues persist!
Many thanks for your prompt reply. I am working locally so that is not the issue.The environment is just the preview mode of SL2 but it does not occur in Mod 1, however, in the morning I am going to re-save Mod 1 as Mod 2 etc and add in the slides one by one and see if maybe there is a rogue slide somewhere as I imported some slides into Mod 2 from another source, I'll keep you posted and thanks again.
go into Storyview and check your slide properties. It may be that one of the options is ticked e.g. menu that is making space for a sidebar even though you may not have the sidebar menu selected as a player option.
I did this but still had issues so went ahead and saved Mod 1 as Mod2 etc and it seems to have fixed it so not sure why this occurred but all is good now.Many thanks for your replies and I'll let you know if I discover why it happened.
