storyboard vs. executive summary

First off, I am a person that likes to build the course as I go. Most of my creative process works around how something looks when it is done, then I edit as i feel like things need changed or as feedback requires it.
My boss asked me to create a storyboard for a project that i am close to completing (a few days from recording the voice talents). He also gave me the option of creating an "executive summary". I haven't heard of "executive summaries" so I wanted to put the question to you guys.
What is the difference between the two proposal methods? any help?

an executive summary would be a one-panel highlight of the major points of the entire storyboard you created. In research writing, they call it an abstract. In theory, busy high level executives don't need all the nitty gritty details, just enough to act on relevant information.
