Storyline (1) Low Memory Warning and Virtual Machine

Jan 13, 2016

Hi All,

I have searched past posts for information and this seems to be possibly be a long-standing issue with Storyline, but I did not see any recent (within the last year) posts about a solution.

I have a module in Storyline (1) that is not very long but contains one slide that is setup like a timeline and has several layers. Every time I get to this slide to make some slight edits, I get the low memory warning. I built this module using a PC, however, I'm now using a MacBook Pro with virtual Windows via Parallels Desktop. So far, based on the posts I found, I have tried: renaming the file and saving to a different location and then rebooting, re-opening, etc...and increasing the size of my virtual memory/paging file. I'm still getting the low memory error and am at a standstill on some revisions that must be completed by the end of the week.

Any ideas?

Hi Caley!

You may see the following warning or error message when trying to open the player properties in your Articulate Storyline project:

Available Memory Is Low

It is strongly recommended that you close any unneeded applications and save your project.

This issue was fixed in Update 4 for Storyline. To take advantage of the new features and fixes, download and install the latest version from the link in your product confirmation email, or get it here.

Hi, Caley -- So sorry to hear of the issues you have encountered. Have you had an opportunity to look at this information from Microsoft on how to Change the size of virtual memory? If issues persist, you are also welcome to work directly with our Support Engineers, as I know you are currently at a standstill due to this issue. Here is the form you would need to use, and I will be on the lookout to follow along with your case.
