I'm sorry that this isn't the answer you're looking for, but SL2 is not backwards compatible with SL1. So if you're going to be collaborating and working on files with your colleagues, you'll want to ensure you're both using the same version of Storyline.
This is really an amazing and disappointing oversight with Articulate. We just hired a new employee and ordered SL2 for her, but to our amazement found out that it is not backwards compatible with any of our SL1 projects! Really? Is this a feature that will be released in the future perhaps? We are unable financially to upgrade everyone to SL2 at this moment, and this has really put us in a bind.
I'm sorry for the disappointment, and I can't speak to the future inclusion of features or updates - but you're welcome and encouraged to share your thoughts here in regards to that as those go directly to our product development team.
