Storyline 2 and Cornerstone LMS Mobile Error

Sep 29, 2015

Hello,

Referencing from the main Cornerstone thread here so as to not clutter the main Cornerstone thread.

We are working towards using the Cornerstone Mobile App. Most of the content we have created thus far has been with Storyline 2.

Program: Articulate Storyline 2
LMS Setting: SCORM 1.2
Published with HTML 5 enabled
Have published content with the Articulate Mobile Player enabled and disabled

From the Web browser perspective, all our published courses are able to launch through the regular CSOD portal.

However, when testing on the CSOD mobile app, we receive the following errors when trying to launch a course (images attached).

The following error script is what comes up from the Mobile App:

Is this issue on the Cornerstone Mobile App side or on the Storyline 2 side? What is a solution to resolve this? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Jade,

We don't support the Cornerstone app  - so if the course launches as expected in HTML5 or the Articulate Mobile player (you'd need to publish for Tin Can API likely, which your LMS may not support) then we'll have to defer to your Cornerstone team. You could also look at testing the course in SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for testing LMS content and would allow for you to publish with Tin Can as well to test how it works in the Articulate Mobile player.

Best of luck with your project and hopefully other Cornerstone users will be able to chime in here.

Hello,

I don't recall where I found a solution (it may have been the main Crnerstone thread), but the issue seemed to be that we were publishing our courses that included a launch window. The resolution was to uncheck this option under the Player options:

Player --> Other --> Launch Play in new window (creates launch page) - This needed to be unchecked.

Once published and tested on the Cornerstone Mobile App, the eLearning course was able to launch. Let me know if you have any further questions.

I looked at my player settings and the box was unchecked. Here's my scenario:

I am getting a similar error script message but under different circumstances.

I can view the content on Internet Explorer 11. But the above error script comes up when launched from Chrome AND Firefox.

Program: Articulate Storyline 2
LMS Setting: SCORM 1.2
Published with HTML 5 enabled
 Articulate Mobile Player disabled

Any ideas on how to fix this issue are greatly appreciated!
