Storyline 2: Animations alter after publishing

Jun 02, 2017

Hi all, some weirdness with animations after publishing - anyone seen this before? In this screen, I used Wipe animation to show the movement of a signal from A to B to C, then back from C to B to A (plane to satellite to ground and back).

It works beautifully in the preview (and playing in the timeline). But in the published version, the B>C and C>B instances of the lightning bolt seem to have been reversed in order. See the attached screen video showing what I mean.

Ideas?

Which browser are you using Greg?

When you are viewing on tempshare can you see the file name at the top in the url box - is it using story.html or story_html5.html...I know there have been a few issues with different animations in the html5 output - some were fixed in the latest update (12) of SL2

If it is working ok in preview on SL2 that is using the flash output and depending which browser you are using to view the html5 output only Chrome is supported so that may be why as well.

Using the latest Chrome on 64 bit Win10 Thinkpad. It's loading the story.html version now, but I think it loaded the html5 version before. AND NOW THE ANIMATION WORKS RIGHT.

The plot thickens: I just opened the same link in Firefox, and it opened to story_html5.html. And the animation is wrong again.

Also, the treatment of text in my speaker notes is bad in html5 but displays correctly in flash. The menu in the player displays the way I want it to in Flash but behaves differently in html5. This is kind of a mess.

There were some issues with HTML5 in SL2 which is why Articulate invested so much time in producing SL360 and SL3 with a focus on the HTML5 output. I know it doesn't help your project to hear that but could you perhaps use motion paths instead of the wipe animation and see if that would work better for you.
