I imported a ppt following the guidelines outlines in your articles and check for transitions and animations on my slide. There are none. Additionally, I check the Triggers and they are set to "user click". Still, I have a slide that is auto-advancing.

there isn't a jump to next slide when timeline ends trigger anywhere - perhaps on a layer of the slide?
Maybe easier for someone to help if they can see your project - can you upload the .story file and let us know which slide is advancing.
Hi, although I deleted the trigger, it was still set under the base layer. I clicked on the gear and set to advance by user.
