Since our company has updated to version 12 of Storyline 2, a few of our content creators have been experiencing serious problems with opening and/or publishing our Storyline 2 files. Two of the members of our group have submitted support cases, but have not heard anything back yet. I was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing issues or if anyone has discovered any solutions. This is a problem that really needs a solution soon for folks in my company.
Do you have the support case numbers? I know our team has experienced an increase in Support cases as folks have a lot of excitement and questions as they dig into Articulate 360 and Storyline 3 - so our response time is around 1-2 business days right now.
It could be something as simple as repairing Storyline after the most recent update. If the repair doesn't resolve it let me know and I can give our Support Engineers a heads up on the cases.
The repairing Storyline steps did not do anything for me. I have tried re-installing four times now. I have been in touch with Ryan Hung. However, I have not gotten a solution yet. My company will be delivering an update soon to our software and I will need to be able to make software simulations very soon.
Please let me know what we can do to get this working ASAP.
We have a total of 9 Storyline 2 licenses used at our company. I will be contacting the others to see if this is problems persists for all in our company.
FYI...of the 9 licences we currently have 8 are being used. Five of the six people who have updated to version 12 are currently experiencing issues with Storyline 2 crashing unexpectedly. Our other two users have not updated to version 12 yet and are still using version 11 without problems.
Please let me know how I can uninstall version 12 and reinstall with version 11 to see if that solves this problem.
Thanks for sharing that information here. I'll reach out to Victor and Ryan who are working on both of the cases you mentioned and have them share an earlier version with you while we still gather information about why the crash is occurring on your end.

I just updated Storyline 2 with the version number: 12: 1705.520.
Now it will crash when I try to:
resize an object
resize a grouped object
preview a slide
preview a scene
preview whole project
publish the project
This is on a build with two slides and zero triggers or functionality. All I've done so far is update a master template, add 4 icons .png from the Nounproject.com and nothing more.
Seeing as this thread is four months old, it's pretty surprising.
I'll try repair, but after this terrible update, it seems I'd be better off reverting to an older version.

I checked in on Jeremy's case and it appears he needed to allowlist Story.exe with his security software to allow publishing to work.
It looks like you also opened a Support case, so I'll give our team a reminder that it could be connected to the same thing.
