I write a number of chemical equations for my questions. In SL1 the usual keyboard shortcuts for sub/superscripts worked as expected. In SL2 they don't seem to work. Each individual character has to be selected and the sub/superscript box ticked. I also thought that the em-dash would work in SL 2.
I don't think that I've changed any settings, I just can't format text quickly which is frustrating
I received a reply from Articulate, confirming that this is a bug. Here's what they said:

Thank you for reporting the issue. We have reviewed it and we were able to duplicate your issue. I have submitted your case to our Quality Assurance team for their review. As a workaround you can try superscript or subscript using other word editor and just copy it back to Storyline. I cannot offer a time frame for when or if this issue will be resolved so please continue to take advantage of the workaround if you encounter this issue in the future.
Hi! Just wanted to pop in and let you know that Update 2 for SL2 has been released which includes correcting this issue of keyboard shortcuts for this functionality.
I know this is an old thread, but in Storyline 2, if you highlight the letters you want to Super or Subscript, then right click on that highlight, and choose 'Font...', in the Effects section, you get the option to check either one.

Andy, you're right. I'd forgotten all about these. I'm going to submit a bug report.
For anyone who's wondering,
For Superscript, select your text, then on the keyboard press CTRL+SHIFT++ (Control key plus shift key plus plus sign)
For subscript, select your text, then on the keyboard press CTRL+= (Control key plus equals sign)
Just double-checked, and this works on text boxes in SL1; does not work in SL2

The Superscript keyboard shortcut - Ctrl + Shift + "+" - worked for me Rebecca. Just wondering why they removed it from the ribbon.
Really, Sid? The keyboard shortcuts work for you in SL2? I'm jealous
They're not working for me (I just tried again) and apparently Articulate has confirmed this. They DO work for me in SL1.
Anyway, yeah, it IS nice having them on the ribbon in SL1. You could make a feature request to bring them back in SL2!
Hi Rebecca
same for me - works in SL1 but not SL2
I added this thread to the existing report filed with our QA team, so that if there are any additional updates I'll be able to post them here as well.
Tx, Ashley

Thanks for popping in to share Bob :)
It's never too late to assist. It could certainly assist someone in the future.

Perhaps a bit belated but just tried in SL3 it seems to work :)
And these keys are working in 360 too....
Thanks for popping in to share and confirm Janagiraman :)
