Storyline 2 - Layer Navigation Buttons
May 16, 2017
Hi, I've attached a Word document with screen shots that explains this.
Scene 3.2 Base Layer
Layers:
Sales Management
Work force
Engagement
Investment
Return button takes user to base layer – Scene 3.2
Previous takes the learner to Scene 3.1
Next takes the learner to the next scene 4.1
I would like to remove Previous and Next or have them behave differently on the layers
Option A
Remove Prev and Next on the layers 1, 2, 3 and 4 so that the learner must use Return button to go to Scene 3.2
After review of all the layers the learner can advance to Scene 4.1
Option B
Prev and Next on layers 1, 2, 3, and 4 only return to Scene 3.2
After review of all layers learner can advance to Scene 4.1 from base layer Scene 3.2
Thanks for your help.
Cheers ~ E

Hi Eden
Prev/Next button unless they are custom navigation buttons that you have built, are for the slide (which includes the layers) you can't turn them on and off on a layer by layer basis but you can use triggers to control them.
it would be helpful if you can share the .story file that is built.
Hi Eden
see attached sample if this works for you - I have only worked on the Next button in the sample.
The next button is disabled on timeline starts of the base layer. There are variables that change when the timeline of each layer starts - these variables are used in a trigger that is set on all layers to change the next button to normal when the user clicks the 'return' button on condition that all variables = true (i.e. all layers have been visited).
Thanks, Wendy - this really helps!
I've not used conditions before so need to research that a bit but this really helps me to get the whole project closer to completion much more quickly!!!
Glad that helps Eden - shout out if you need more help and good luck with your project.
