Storyline 2 - Problem with scoring using question banks
Dec 13, 2017
Hello everyone,
I have built a course that has an assessment with 2 question banks:
- One with 21 mandatory questions and another one with 29 random questions.
However I'm having a problem with the scoring when I reach the end of the assessment - even though I answer all the questions correctly I am not scoring 100%. After some testing I have realised that the problem potentially lies with the question bank that has the random questions, even though I have told Storyline to score my results by question and not by choice.
Any thoughts on what may be causing this scoring issue?
Thanks for you help.
Patricia

Hi Ankit,
Many thanks for your help.
Unfortunately for data protection reasons I can't share the file here.
Would you be able to let me know what the fix consists of and how can I apply it?
Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
Patricia
Hi Patricia,
It's tough to nail down what could be causing the problem without seeing your file, but I can try and narrow it down.
If you're able to share the file privately, that would be really helpful. You can send it my way right here!
Hi Alyssa,
Many thanks for your help.
So, in one draw we get 50 questions - 21 mandatory and 29 random (the random ones are from a bank with a total of 70 questions).
I have tested it several times and got to the conclusion that the mandatory questions are fine as I scored 100% on them. When I select every correct answer, including the randomised ones, the score varies between 95% and 98% on the results slide.
I believe that the problem might be lying with a couple of random questions (still testing to confirm this) but cannot identify them.
I will send you a file early next week so you can have a look at it.
Thank you :)
Patricia
Sounds like a good plan, Patricia. Keep me posted!
Hi Alyssa,
I was able to have the files ready earlier than expected and have now uploaded them on the link you sent me.
Thanks for all your help.
