Storyline 2 quiz not tracking properly in LMS. Corrupted Quiz?

Oct 27, 2015

I have a course that went through many edits and testing and started having scoring issues when testing in the LMS. When exiting in the quiz the score reported was the score achieved for the attempt, not the entire quiz. For example if you answered 2 questions correctly in a 10 question quiz it reports 100%. Subsequent attempts are behaving the same way. My colleague created the quiz when I was on vacation and I have added to it/modified it repeated with no issues.

We are using question banks for all the questions so it can draw from a pool of questions. I have a total of 21 possible questions for a 10 question quiz. Going on a hunch that the quiz was corrupted I was able remove it and re-import each of quiz questions individually and solve the problem. Unfortunately the client needs an urgent change just after launch and now I am encountering the error again and can't seem to correct it the same way.

We are using SABA Cloud and SCORM 1.2. I am using an eLearning Brothers player skin, which has had several issues, some they corrected-some not, but I don't believe it is affecting the scoring. It is a frame.swf file that is copied the content folder of the published output zip file.

Has anyone encountered this kind of  weird scoring behavior?

Hi Alicia,

It's difficult to say without seeing the file and what you've set up in terms of tracking and reporting - but I'd begin by looking at testing the file at SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for LMS content.  There is an article here to walk you through the testing steps and if you're seeing the same behavior there we'll definitely want to take a look at the file.

One of my colleagues thinks it is the quiz also, because when resuming the course after failing the quiz the quiz takes you back to the last question you answered incorrectly, not the slide results.

I was able to fix the issue by recreating the quiz. I copy and pasted all the assets from each screen from one Storyline 2 project to another and then reset up the question. It took a while because some programming and states did not copy. But it's better than starting from zero! :)
