Storyline 2 Quiz / Results / LMS issue

Apr 24, 2017

I sent this to the support team, but wanted to see if I get a quicker answer here. So I have a course, with THREE Question Pools, one at the end of each Module, and then ONE Results slide at the end, that I'm basing the completion off of.

If the user completes the course in one pass, it works, but as soon as the user leaves the course, the score is reset to zero... which is not good.

So the first question is, should the score hold between sessions?

And then I had a couple of thoughts on ways to attack this...

1. At the master slide level, on the main page, have a JavaScript call that basically grabs the score, sets it to a NEW variable I create in SL, and the set the score to that variable (with the though of my NEW variable being saved in suspend data).

2. Do all the scoring myself, using a custom score variable, and then push that variable as the "Results.ScorePercent".

3. Make a Results slide per module, and then have a Results slide at the end that combines all the scores... but it was my assumption that you shouldn't do multiple Results slides, if you want only ONE score to be passed to the LMS...

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Hey Matthew,

Thanks for letting me know you opened a case (01061405). It looks like we have an issue on our radar in Storyline 2 where the quiz score resets on resume if the question bank is set to “When revisiting: Resume initial state.”

I really appreciate you sharing your experience here--it's helpful to know just how many people this bug affects. Vevette added your case to the report, and we'll be sure to notify you as soon as we get more information!
