I'm wondering if anyone has had the problem where a slide containing several buttons, each with three states and one jump to, cannot be refreshed using the seek bar at the bottom of the template?
It is set to "Automatically decide", like all the other slides in the program. However, it is the only slide that does not refresh when the refresh icon on the seekbar is clicked.
have you tried creating a new story file and importing your existing file in to see if that fixes anything. Maybe it's a corrupt slide. Are there layers or all your objects on the base layer?
Good suggestions! Yes, I created a similar slide and it was only when I created the buttons with jump triggers that the slide refused to refresh. I only have one layer on this slide. It is a menu slide and uses the buttons to branch users to one of four sub-topics, all in the same scene.
In some cases, you may notice that the Rewind button at the far right end of the seekbar doesn't actually start the slide over from the beginning.
The behavior of the Rewind button is determined by the “When revisiting” property for each slide. There are three options to choose from:
Automatically decide: This is the default option, and it means Articulate Storyline will decide automatically whether to rewind the slide or not. Here's the logic: If the slide contains just simple objects and audio but no interactivity, Storyline will rewind the slide to the beginning of the slide’s timeline. However, if the slide contains any interactive elements, such as buttons or any other object that includes a visited/selected state, Storyline won't rewind the slide.
Resume saved state: This option will always prevent the slide from rewinding.
Reset to initial state: This option will always force the slide to rewind.
To change the “When revisiting” property for slides in your course, see this tutorial.
If you'd prefer to simply remove the Rewind button, you can do that, too. Bear in mind that removing theRewind button will also remove the Seekbar.
What's the reason for removing the scrollbar if you want to remove the rewind button? We always want to be able to have the scrollbar, to show users how much is left on a slide (it's expected as a user to be able to see your progress) but never ever want or need the rewind button.
The Rewind button is a part of the seekbar. You can check out the documentation here to understand how it works with different slide properties.
I know that various progress bars, as you indicated for a visual indicator, have been requested previously as well. Feel free to share your idea and use case with our team here so that we can take a look.

Hi Gord
what is the slide property for 'when revisiting slide'?
Hi Wendy,
It is set to "Automatically decide", like all the other slides in the program. However, it is the only slide that does not refresh when the refresh icon on the seekbar is clicked.
Thanks, Gord.

Hi Leslie,
Thank you for your advice. Setting the slide to "Reset to initial state" worked like a charm. The refresh button is fully functional now.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for popping in with an update Gordon :)

Hi Ashley,
Are you asking about the seekbar?
