I was wondering if anyone else faced a problem with the new slider interactive element in Storyline 2.
It doesn't seem to work on Safari and Chrome when its running in html5 mode. It just doesn't drag at all. Same with iPad Safari browser when run in html5 mode. The articulate mobile player on iPad seems to be fine.
It also works fine if the flash plugin is available for the browser in the flash mode. Anyone else faced this issue before? Any suggestions?
I am using Firefox and I can see that firefox is not compatible with html5. Can you show me which type of interactions do not work with firefox on html5 as I find most of them do.
Can the sliders such on this link work in html5 at all?
Since we don't offer support for it we haven't tested which options or interactions work in that particular browser with HTML5. If you need to have users access it within Firefox, you may want to look at testing it fully on the course you've set up and see how it behaves.
Just an FYI Mark that responding via email includes your signature here - so you are welcome to visit this thread and edit the post to remove that information if you wish.
I have publised a course in html5 and am using Firefoc browser. However the mp4 video doesn't play at all....is that another thing that doesn't work with Firefox and html5? Thanks Mark
I can't say for certain - but you may want to review the other known reasons here why a video may not work. I'd also suggest testing it in Chrome or one of the other browsers supported for HTML5 to narrow down if the issue is Firefox.
Blast from the past... but I just faced the same problem stated earlier. Removing the animation on my slider did help and made it work, but it's a little disappointing, when everything else is moving, but that.
Any idea if Storyline can/will do something about it?
Sorry to hear that you experienced an issue with this as well.
Are you utilizing Storyline 2? Are you using a Fade In animation on your slider? I do see where this issue has been reported to our team (looks like it could be Fly In or Wipe as well).
Since the last posting here, we have implemented a system to better prioritize issues based on user impact. I will certainly add this thread so that we can track both user impact as well as update when we can.
We do have it noted that the Float In animation works, so perhaps you could try that.
There's no entrance animation on the slider nor on the slide itself
The slider only changes the state of the freeform object "wine amount" (which has 14 states).
It was published for the Web and the HTML5 checkbox was ticked.
I published locally, the output is hosted on AWS and the link to the file is included on my e-Heroes profile page.
I'm on a slightly older version of Chrome [Version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (32-bit)], and it works just fine. But when tested on the latest version of Chrome [Version 72.0.3626.121 (Official Build) (32-bit)] the slider doesn't move at all.
FWIW, it works well for me in IE (Version: 11.1508.15063.0), and it worked in Opera 58 on Windows 10.
Any suggestions other than submitting a support case? Thanks in advance for any help!
Hi Leslie, thanks so much for popping in with a reply so quickly (not pandering, but you are amazing at that)!
I guess I'll wait it out for now as it's not a true course, but do you see this issue with just SL2? I chair the St. Louis Storyline Special Interest Group, and a number of our attendees are still on SL2, so I typically create files in SL2 to make them available to as many people as possible.

Sure Jean-Charles. If you need to share privately you can send along to our Support team here. They can also send an NDA if needed.

Holly, excellent work around! Thanks so much for fixing a headache that has been plaguing our team!
HI Pauly!
Glad that this older thread was able to assist you as well. Thanks for popping in to share your update.

Hi Leslie,
Since yesterday I did try to remove the animation and enlarge the handle and it started working.
Thank you for the recommandation of the animation.
Glad you were able to find something that worked for you Cynthia. Thanks for the update :)
Just come across this issue. I don't have an animation on my slider. So far I've tried:
I am using the latest version of chrome, however I did note the html5 version works fine in Internet Explorer?
Hi Carlene
are you using SL2 or another version? Can you share the slide - perhaps someone can take a look and help you
Update: Sample SL2 file attached with a slider. It doesn't work in Chrome or Firefox but works in IE and Edge.
Update: Import the SL2 file into SL360 and the slider works fine in Chrome.
HI Wendy,
This is one I did last year so it's in 2. I can upgrade it to 3 if that will fix the issues?
All our resources are CC licensed so I've just attached the full resource. The sliders are in the scene 'Boolean NOT'.
The link to it online is: https://www.escholar.manchester.ac.uk/learning-objects/temp-files/search-operators-test/story_html5.html
Thanks for your help.
Carlene
Hi Carlene
doesn't work in SL 2 viewing in Chrome for me either but I imported it into SL360 v3.14 and published just that scene and uploaded to my webserver and it works fine. I then published to Review and it works fine with Chrome - here is the link so you can test it
HI Wendy we don't have 360 but I will try upgrading the project to 3.
I was trying to avoid that as it usually throws out all the alignments/fonts etc.
Thanks,
Carlene
Hi Carlene
If you don't want to do that, try logging a ticket with Support and see if they have a workaround for your SL2 file.
All the best
HI Wendy, I guess i'd end up doing it someday so no worries.
Thank you for all your help I really appreciate it! :)
Hello Heroes!
I know this thread is a tad stale, but I'm chiming in here as I have a simple Storyline 2 slider interaction that isn't working in Chrome.
This Fill the Glass slider interaction
I'm on a slightly older version of Chrome [Version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (32-bit)], and it works just fine. But when tested on the latest version of Chrome [Version 72.0.3626.121 (Official Build) (32-bit)] the slider doesn't move at all.

Hi Diana,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you see in your course.
It works perfectly for me in Chrome 72 on Mac and in Windows 10, but I did run into an issue in Firefox 65.
We have similar issues filed for both Chrome and Firefox-specific to viewing sliders in HTML5.
I'll add this conversation to the report, but no workaround is listed.

Since you shared your project file, this was an easy check.
I published your project file using Storyline 360 and you can take a peek at the output here.
It's working in all environments as expected for me.
@Leslie,
Great minds think alike as I just upgraded it to 360 as well to test that :-).
Which also means that the free download post (https://community.articulate.com/download/storyline-360-fill-the-glass-challenge) mis-states that it's currently a 360 file...
How do I edit the text or replace the file on that download page? Or is that something only a staff member can do?
