Storyline 2 Testing Flash Published Content

May 08, 2017

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend tools/approaches you have used for testing the integrity of your eLearns published in Flash format.

I have a scenario in my organisation where an eLearning module works perfectly for some people and crashes/freezes for others. I suspect it is an issue outside of the module itself and more to do with infrastructure and config of our web browsers.

We are in the process of moving to HTML5 published eLearns in the mid/long term but in the short term I am curious to investigate this Flash issue.

Any help is appreciated,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Thanks for reaching out! I would recommend testing your Flash content in these supported browsers:

  • Adobe Flash Player 10.3 or later, and...
    • Windows: Internet Explorer 8 and later, Microsoft Edge (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version)
    • Mac: Safari 7 and later, Google Chrome (latest version)

Also, are you publishing the files for Web or LMS?

  • For Web, test the published zip file in Tempshare.
  • For LMS, test the published zip file in SCORM Cloud, which is industry standard for LMS testing.
