Is anyone else out there having issues getting their Storyline 2 projects to preview? There are two employees here at my company with Storyline 2 software and neither of us can get any of our projects to preview.
A bug has been identified in Adobe Flash Player 20.0.0.267 that breaks several preview features in Articulate Storyline and Articulate Studio. For example:
* You'll see a blank screen when you preview a project.
* The preview area of the player properties window is blank.
* The timeline preview feature doesn't work.
* You can't preview videos, Flash movies, or web objects.
* You can't edit videos.
* You can't import Engage interactions into Storyline courses.
Please use the uninstaller in that first link in the article above and be sure to turn off your auto-updater so you do not introduce an endless loop.
According to the Adobe Flash Player Guide, update options let the user specify whether Flash Player should display a notification when a new version is available, and how frequently to check for new versions. When installing the player on Windows the user selects which option they want: -Allow Adobe to install updates -Notify me to install updates -Never check for updates Choose "Notify me" to be able to decline an update to Flash Player as you reinstall the Player per our instructions above. Thank you Ashley - this left me pulling my hair out the other night!! Glad it was an easy fix (and glad the problem wasn't my computer... Windows 10 has been giving me all sorts of issues).
Thanks for the update and happy to hear you're back up and working. I certainly feel your pain on Windows 10 - personally I've stuck with Windows 8, cause it took me long enough to learn that one!

This was supposed to be fixed today, I am desperate for it to be fixed as it is impacting my progress on a project. Can you please give me an update? Many thanks.
Windows said that the Windows 8 fix would be rolled out today, but I haven't seen any announcements yet. I checked in with our development team, and they shared that Windows typically does a "Tuesday night" patch - not sure what time zone they'd be in, but I'd suspect PST. Once we have additional info we'll be certain to share here.
We don't have it officially documented yet - but I just installed the Windows 8 updates myself and after rebooting my system, everything seems to be previewing and working normally. This article will be updated later today if you need to follow those steps to go through the update process. (article is within Storyline, but same steps will apply for Storyline 1 and Studio '13 in regards to Windows updates).

Adobe and Microsoft released information that Windows 7, Vista and Windows 10 have been updated.
Follow the directions in the article above for your version of Windows to install the latest update.
We're waiting for additional information in regards to Windows 8.
