Storyline 3 and SABA

May 17, 2017

When we purchased Storyline 2 we paid for the updgrade to Storyline 4 (if that ever happens). The thing is, we're not sure if:

A: We are able to run Storyline 2 and Storyline 3 on the same PC. The reason we would like to us that we have a number of courses published in SABA and would like to be able to make changes quickly, if clients request them, and re-publish with software we know works in SABA, which leads me to my next question.

B: We are not sure if Storyline 3 courses will work in SABA. There was some issue with them working when people first started using the software, but now if works pretty well.

So to summarise I think my questions are; 1) Can you run Storyline 2 and Storyline 3 on the same PC at once?

2) Has anyone published courses in SABA from Storyline 3? Do they know it works as well as it does with Storyline 2?

Please comment if this is unclear and you need extra info. I'd love to upgrade but I have to be cautious, even though the way I see it we just get additional features and less bugs.

Hi Jamie,

Storyline 2 and 3 can run on the same computer. You can even run Storyline 1 and Storyline 360 there too - but that may just get confusing if you're not sure which version you created it in!

Storyline 3 courses won't be backwards compatible to Storyline 2, so if you do make changes in them you'll not be able to include that in an earlier version of the course.

Storyline 3 is also SCORM conformant and will work with an LMS that adheres to the SCORM 1.2- 2004 standards and Tin Can xAPI. Do you know what SCORM option your instance of Saba needs?

You could also look at using the free trial and giving a few of your courses a test while you wait for the community to weigh in.

Let us know if you need anything else - and when you're ready to redeem the upgrades, our team is ready for ya!
