I've never used freeform question before in learning and I am thinking about possibly adding a couple in an elearn I am building. Before I added I wanted to test to see how it would work in reporting in our LMS. So I did up a quick test and when the report came back the freeform answer did not appear.
Does freeform question text get reported to an LMS?
First, you didn't do anything wrong! By default, freeform questions do not send question text to an LMS since they don't generally have question fields or title boxes. Storyline will use the type of interaction as the question text—e.g., drag-and-drop, pick-many, etc.
How do I send question text to an LMS for a freeform question?
Change the slide layout to a layout that includes a title box, then enter the question text into the title box on the slide. Here's a quick video guide.
Publish the course for SCORM 2004 or Tin Can API (xAPI).
