I created a project in Storyline 2 and when I published it to Word, the graphics were nice and crisp. I updated the file to Storyline 3. Now when I publish it to Word, the graphics are blurry and very poor quality. There does not seem to be any setting to improve the graphic quality.
The quality of images in ‘Publish to Word’ has gotten noticeably better since Storyline 1, and we’re looking at how we can continue to improve it. Storyline is going to compress the image as a part of the publishing process. Images in Word won’t be as high resolution as you would find in a photo/image editing tool such as Photoshop.
Since you've noticed a decrease in publish quality, could you share a screenshot that compares the Storyline 2 Word file to the Storyline 3 Word file?
In this similar thread, Pierre suggests increasing the Story Size (only for Word publishing purposes) prior to publishing.

Thanks Patricia for the images - I'd love to get a copy of your .story file to test that as well. The Storyline 2 version is probably best to start with. Even just that one slide if you can upload it here?
Hi, I'm wondering if there is any update on this issue. We upgraded to SL3 and I have to say the quality of the published images is very poor. I need to have high quality images as part of our systems demonstrations within the courses.
Sorry to hear that you've run into an issue as well.
I do not see where Patricia shared a course file for us to take a look at, so I do not have an update to provide on her specific issue.
Are you publishing your course to Word as well?
Would you be able to share your .story file for us to take a peek at what you are experiencing? If you cannot share here in the forums, you are welcome to share here privately.
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I am unable to share files as they
are confidential in-house ones. The problem is when I publish images for
LMS. Regardless of the image size and clarity of the image that I put in
the, once I publish it they are very blurry and I simply cannot use them. I
understand the images are compressed during publishing but it is so much so
as to be detrimental to the course quality. I didn't encounter this problem
to the same extent with SL2.
