We are using Storyline 3 for the course development, We have use some variable (True/False, Number variables & Text variables) it's working fine in HTML output in our LMS, but not in Flash output.
Sorry you see some discrepancies with the Flash output, Vinod. Happy to lend a hand!
A few questions to start:
What Storyline 3 update are you using? To check, click the Help tab > click About Storyline.
Would you be able to share your Storyline .story file with us? If you can publicly share the project, you can attach it by using the Add Attachment button in your reply. If the content is sensitive, you can privately share it via this link.
We'll give it a test in a similar environment and let you know what we find!
I published it using Storyline 3 Update 5, since that's the latest update. I then tested the Flash output, and the variable values remained when I revisited the course. Here's a screen recording of my testing.
Testing the course in any LMS (reload scorm, Scorm cloud) with Flash output (story_flash.html) we click any one of the button variable is changed, then clicking the Exit button on the same slide and re-lunch the course again... the variables are coming back to initial values.
This has always been the case in Storyline's Flash output - leaving the slide saves and sets the variable for a resume of the course (or a refresh of that page).
It's not tagged as a bug to fix, but if you'd like us to investigate that as a new feature in Storyline, I'd love to hear more detail and you can share that with our team if you're up for logging a feature request.
Thanks for including the screen recording of your testing. In the Flash output, it looks like the variable continues to increase each time you hover over a button, but not in the HTML5 output.
We'd love to help you get to the bottom of this. Would you mind sharing your file with us so we can take a closer look? We'll delete it when we're done troubleshooting.
If that works for you, you can upload your file privately to our support team here. We'll give it a test and let you know what we find!
Did you get a new support case number? I see where you reached out here as well, but I'm not seeing a new case for you. I'd be happy to take another look.

Hi Katie Gokhshteyn,
We are using storyline 3 v3.0.10762.0.
If we exit the course once using exit button, the variables comes to initial values like (false/zero/blank) in Flash output (story_flash.html).
But, the values are not changing under HTML output (story_html5.html).
Thanks,
Thanks for sharing your file, Vinod!

Could you also test this link in a Flash-enabled browser and let me know if you see the same behavior? Thanks!
Dear Alyssa Gomez,
Thanks for helping me about the issues.

Please see the attached video for your reference.
Please suggest us on this.
Thanks,
Hi, Vinod! Thanks for including the video in your reply--that was really helpful! What you're seeing is expected behavior for both Flash and HTML5.
When you exit a course and re-open it to the same slide, the variables on that slide will be reset back to their initial values.
The only way to retain the value of the variable is to go to a new slide before exiting the course.

Dear Alyssa Gomez,
Okay, So is there any alternative to get it done without going to a new slide?
What we have noticed is this functionality is working fine under HTML5 but not in Flash.
Hoping that there will be some solution for it and can you help me out to get this issue fixed ASAP.
Thanks,

Hi Flipfly,
