Storyline 360 - Converting to Freeform - Pick Many - breaks

Hi All 

I have a situation - where I created a slide with several options - after I built it, I converted it to freeform and made it a Pick Many slide.

Prior to my converting it - I previewed it - and everything showed up on the screen when it was supposed to.

After I converted it - selected the correct answers (rectangular shapes with text) - added my triggers, I previewed it again and NONE of my 7 choices appear on the screen at all!

They are not hidden in the timeline.  They are not hidden in their states.  They are in front of everything else.  They simply don't appear!

When I remove the freeform, they appear again.  I even rebuilt the slide - new blank slide - new shapes and texts... it still didn't work as soon as I converted it to freeform.

Your help and wisdom is greatly appreciated!
