Storyline 360: Display Slides Based on Whether Course is Viewed via Website or Mobile App
Aug 30, 2018
Hello all,
I have a question about displaying different course slides based on whether a course is viewed on our LMS website vs. app (on a phone or tablet).
At the start of all of our courses, we have a slide that walks users through how to navigate the course. A callout-style box points to each item (such as the scrollbar and Menu tab) as each one is described. However, the player display is different on the computer version than it is on the mobile-friendly version. (See attachments.) So, when the courses are viewed in the app, the callouts don't match up with the new locations of each pertinent navigation item.
Obviously, we could redesign the navigation slide so that it does not indicate location, but I would rather be able to create a similar navigation slide compatible with the app player display, and tell the course to select the appropriate navigation slide based on how the course is being viewed.
Does anyone know how to approach this? I assume there may be a variable that could capture how the course is accessed and be used to route the course appropriately? If not, does anyone have other ideas?
Thanks in advance! Let me know if I need to clarify further.

Hi Delaney
I think you'll find some information on how to do this in this thread https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/is-there-a-way-to-know-what-device-is-being-used-to-view-a-course.
