When attempting to use the Font Awesome icon font, inserting a symbol into Storyline 360 works fine, however, a completely different icon is displayed during preview or publish.
This works fine in Storyline 2. Has anyone else spotted this issue?
Here's a quick Peak recording of the issue. I will also report this as a bug.
On further investigation it appears that the output always displays the symbol that occurs 15 places after the selected one from the font awesome library.
Windings symbols display correctly.
I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the font library.
Hi Adam! I had not seen this yet, but then again I don't download a lot of fonts :)
Great video demonstrating the issue (gotta love Peek) and thanks for reaching out to our support team (00952594). It looks like you are currently working with Cleo and I'll be happy to follow along as well.
Yes, it did indeed. I also noticed I had both the True Type and Open Types installed which might have caused some sort of conflict so when I removed them I only re-installed the True Type version.
Any news on a fix for this? I have same problem only every time I open Storyline 360 I have to install the Font Awesome again. Only happens in 'Preview' mode.
Adam found that he had both the TTF and OTF installed, so he uninstalled both, reinstalled the TTF, rebooted, and everything began working correctly. It sounds like you have a different issue, since you have to reinstall the Font Awesome each time you open SL360. Are you using the TTF or the OTF? Try installing the TTF, if you haven't already, and uninstall the OTF if necessary. If you're still having trouble, I would reach out to our Support Engineers, and they'll be able to help you get to the bottom of this.
Yes i've followed the previous threads I tried all the combinations of installing TTF/OTF and uninstalling OTF/TTF. It's fine when published, just preview mode. Opened up some previous Storyline2 and all ok preview and publish, just 360 the problem.
Thanks for that information. Would you mind providing screenshots of what you're seeing in Edit Mode vs. Publishing with HTML5 only or first? We'll try and replicate this on our end.
I've atached the 'preview'' and 'Published' screen shots. The bottom row are Photoshop png's. The 'black' row is straight Font Awesome type which works in Storyline 2. They outputted for html5/Flash.
As Wendy said It looks like when published for html5 first, it does not include all fonts used. I've attached a third screenshot published to Flash first which works.
Thanks so much for those screenshots, M. I can clearly see that the font is not displayed correctly in Preview and published with HTML5. I have sent all of this information to our Support Engineers to investigate further (case 01003119), so keep an eye on your inbox, and you'll receive an email from someone on the team shortly. I'll also follow along with the case and share updates here for anyone who may encounter a similar issue in the future.
Hi! I'm experiencing an issue with the Proxima Nova Lt face in Storyline 360. It displays fine on the slide, but then in Preview mode it defaults to a serif face. It's an OTF. Thanks in advance for any guidance.
Thanks, Ashley. Are you using Proxima Nova Light from Adobe Typekit, or did you download the font installer from somewhere else?
We tested both the Adobe Typekit version, as well as another download version of Proxima Nova LT, and both fonts appeared normally in Preview and Publish on Windows 7.
Could you share your font installer file, or let us know where you found that font? We'd like to test the exact version you're using. Thanks!

Just popped in to check on your case and looks like Cleo is testing and I will continue to follow along.
Hi Adam! Just popped in to check on things again and it looks like a re-installation of your font got you back to good :) Glad to see that.
Hi Leslie

Thanks for yours and Cleo's help :)
Sounds like you did all the work :) Thanks for popping in to share.

Hi M
SL2 preview is flash
SL360 preview is HTML5
that could account for the issue in preview but not when published.
Yes, just tested, publishing html5 only or first, FontAwesome not included. There must be a workaround to include the font.

I'm encountering the same. Was any solution found? Or are there any easy ways to incorporate a webfont?
Follow these steps:
1) Create new project in Storyline 360
2) Insert text box
3) Copy symbols from FontAwesome Cheat Sheet and paste it to text box in Storyline 360
4) Preview and publish for Web (HTML5 with Flash fallback)

Hi Ashley! I've seen some trouble with Proxima Nova before, so I'd like to get a bit more information about your set up.
Hi Alyssa,
Thanks for your follow-up. I'm using the latest version (Build 3.7.12674.0) of 360, and am running it on my desktop with Windows 7 Enterprise.
Thanks, Ashley. Are you using Proxima Nova Light from Adobe Typekit, or did you download the font installer from somewhere else?

Was there ever an answer to this issue? I have just encountered the same thing.
Hi there, Elizabeth. It doesn't look like we were able to test this issue further.
If you can share your installation file for that font that you're using, that'll be super helpful for us! Thanks.
