I was trying to highlight sever part of a picture by using the 'slide background fill" but it ends up with all shapes showing the same information. any fix for this?
Hi Leslie. when I create multiple rectangles with set to slide back ground fill. All the shapes are showing the same content which is not the intent. as Michael mentioned above, it is because i duplicated the shapes.
Thanks for the additional information and the steps to replicate Peter.
I took a look, and I am unable to replicate this behavior, so I'm curious to know your current version of Storyline 360? We are currently on Build 3.20.16814.0, which you can find here if needed.
I may be misunderstanding the steps to replicate, so let me know what I need to adjust in my testing as well or feel free to provide a Peek of your actions:
Format background of the slide with an image
Insert shape and adjust fill to Slide background fill
CTRL-D to duplicate the shape and move to another part of the slide
Copy/paste shape on another part of the slide
Insert new shape with slide background fill on the slide
Steps 3, 4, and 5 all were the same result for me, and the shapes did not duplicate the background.
Thanks Leslie. I am on the latest version actually. I tried to use the step 3 or 4 which will cause the issue. I also noticed that even i tried step 5, the problem still come up at times in preview or published to Articulate Review.
Thanks for confirming. I published the project, and I am seeing what you are reporting here. I'll take care of sharing this with my team since I can replicate.
In the meantime, you can add the shape with No fill and an Outline to produce a similar effect.
We're still looking at the issue that Peter originally reported. Specifically, the problem happens when you duplicate the shape and move to another part of the slide -or- copy/paste shape on another part of the slide. Does that match what you're seeing?
Yes, it's random. I deleted this object and designed another way to create
the same effect. It took much longer. Looking forward to Articulate
working with background image reveal. Thank you for the quick reply.
Is the concept of "slide background fill" that if I place a shape over a part of my slide, and set the shape fill to "slide background", that my shape will identically match the portion of the slide that it's covering?

This seems to happen when you duplicate a shape, but not when you create a new one and place it over another area.
Hi Peter,
I'm not clear on what you are asking or experiencing.
Would you be able to share a Peek demonstrating the behavior?
Thanks Michael. it works if i create each one individually.

This used to work in SL2. I would report this issue as a bug.

Was this corrected?

Or am I making an assumption here?
