Storyline 360 - Stalls after screen recording

I am having inconsistent results when capturing screen recordings. Short duration recordings (10 seconds) save without incident. When I try and do a longer recording (1 minute or more) I get the "Saving...100%" indicator but then Storyline stalls. I have to End Task to stop the process. 

I am running SL 360 version 3.18. I just did an upgrade yesterday. The file is on the C:\ drive C:\Users\myname\_Storyline\course_folder

Please don't make me have to use Captivate. :/

Hi Claudine!

It sounds like you're doing all the right things -- saving to your local hard drive, updating your software, and so on. I'm sorry you're running into this trouble!

Does this problem happen in one particular Storyline file, or in all files? To check, open a new blank Storyline file. Then perform a 1 minute+ screen recording. Does Storyline freeze there?

Thanks for responding. I've discovered a common thread.

When I record within an application, the simulation saves as expected. When
I record the process of opening an application -- open Windows start button
> Select Application > Do the thing > select ESC -- that's when Storyline
stalls.

I'll have to find a workaround for those situations, but I can accomplish
90% of my tasks.

Great detective work, Claudine! I'm not seeing this behavior in my own testing, but I'm glad you were able to find the culprit.
