My slide in my second scene advance in the wrong sequence: 1, 2, 3, 5, 4, 6.
Nothing I have tried (and I think I've tried everything) to fix this has worked. Even when I set the triggers in slide three not just to jump to the next slide but to slide 4 specifically, SL still jumps from from three to five.
This seemingly trivial problem that just can't be fixed is taking WAY too much time and making me crazy.
What do you suggest other than just starting all over again?
Thanks Michele, but there is no connection between 3 and 5 to disconnect. The two arrows both go from 3 to 4 (one at end of timeline and the other when user clicks). My guess is that something internally didn't keep up when I was adding and moving slides in the scene. Got anything that fixes that? (I've tried deleting the trigger-links and putting them back. It didn't work.)
Based on what you've shared, it seems like you have everything set up correctly, but Storyline is still behaving oddly. There could be a few reasons for odd behavior which would include:
Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.
I just noticed that the slides are actually playing in the correct sequence, but the TOC is in the wrong order. I was albe to fix that in "Player Properties." The weird thing is that I never published it or did anything to change the TOC order...
I had the same problem. However, the slides were actually playing in the wrong order...the same wrong order as the TOC. But my Story View was correct...all connections were either set to "next slide" or the actual number of the next slide (at the problem areas).
I went into Player / Menu. There is an icon at the very bottom "Reset from Story". MAGIC!!! Resets the TOC to what you actually have in Story View and now everything plays correctly.
Thanks for the clues in the thread above that helped me get there.
My slide in my initial scene advance in the wrong sequence: 1, 2, 3, 5, 4, 6. When I click on the bottom (one Im created because of my work we dont use the player bottoms) Start, automatically jumps to slide 3 without pass throug the slide 2, and sometime the slide start to jump like a crazy. I already tried all the actions you recommend here but Im still having the same issue, which I think is Story Line, because I create a new project form scratch to try it and get the same error.
I'm sorry you're running into this issue with your slide sequence! Are you comfortable with sharing your .story file for testing? You can share it publicly here, or privately with our support engineers. We'll delete it when we nail down what's going on!
I appreciate you sharing your project so we could take a closer look.
When clicking the Comenzar button on the first slide of the first scene, I land on slide 1.3 Situaciones Específicas. It looks like the triggers on slide 1.2 Objetivos are causing this to happen.
Simply update them to:
Jump to slide 1.3 Situaciones Específicas When the user clicks Button 1
Jump to slide 1.1 Inicio When the user clicks Button 2
Hello Katie thanks for the information and your help, the issue here is I already tried this and doesn't work and now you did the same and works, I think is something with my story line, because as I mentioned I created a entire new project with 3 slides in order to review the Triggers behavior and get the same error in this new project. Finally I uninstall the program and install it again and nothing, also change my project location from a drive to my computer.
As you mention the error in the first scene is resolved thank you so much, however if you review Slide 6.1 and click on the bottom Siguiente, the triggers does not perform any action :(, can you please check this? Because I am thinking that work for you because of your program, thanks in advance guys :)

Hi JJ,
Have you tried the function disconnect link in the story view?
To access this function, right click on the arrow which links the 3 and the 5 slide...try it and tell us.
Michèle

Hi JJ,

Since it sounds like it's just this one file, I'd start by importing it into a new Storyline project and ensure you are working on it locally. If that still doesn't resolve the issue you'll want to conduct a repair of Storyline. Let us know how it goes after trying those two steps.
Can you share your file with us? I'd be happy to see what happens on my machine.
Update: Thanks Ashley and Jeff -- Importing didn't help so I'm reinstalling... no joy yet, but working on it...
I just noticed that the slides are actually playing in the correct sequence, but the TOC is in the wrong order. I was albe to fix that in "Player Properties." The weird thing is that I never published it or did anything to change the TOC order...
Oh well, back on track. Thanks for the help.

Check out this video on how to adjust those triggers and review the slide navigation with a modified version of the file attached below.
