I try to embed a web object in a storyline lightbox.
I have uploaded everything on the server; the address works fine (test link) but the web object does not come up. Instead I get an empty slide. When I embed the file that is local (in my computer) it works; when it is on the server it does not work. Any suggestions, please? I do not understand what I do wrong.
So it sounds like you're linking to a web object that you have already on your server and that one isn't playing once inserted into your Storyline file and testing the published output from the server? Can you confirm you're following the directions here on how to insert a web object either using the URL if online or pointing to the folder on your local drive?
Thanks for contacting me. Yes, I follow exactly the instructions in the link. When I give the web address the web object does not work (I use 'Test link' and it works fine but the web object does not). If I give a local address in my computer, it works fine.
Do you have a link to this web object that I could take a look at or even your .story file with both elements linked so I could see how you set it up? When you test out your published output does the page just not load or do you see an error message at all? Are you able to try it from different browsers - or even try loading it up to a different server to see if there is a security restriction occurring? There are a few options within this publishing article that you could try using.
