Nov 16, 2018

HI All,

I am facing bookmarking issue with storyline assessment section.

Once the assessment is failed or passed the bookmarking is always taking to a specific page(the one i exited during the status change)

i am able to replicate the same issues in all the storyline courses

Hi, Sitharam. Welcome to the community, and let's begin our troubleshooting journey! 🍏

First, could you let me know which resume option (Prompt to resume, Always resume, or Never resume) you selected for each course?

Next, did you publish the course for Web, LMS, or something else? If you don't mind sharing one of your .story files with me, I'll give it a test in a similar environment and let you know what I find. We'll get to the bottom of this bookmarking oddity together!

Hi Articulate!

I am experiencing these same issues with bookmarking. The client is using Moodle LMS and the file is uploaded with SCORM 1.2. The users are always resuming at the very first point where they left the course, even if they resumed afterwards and moved further into the course. The user also says that she lost her answers and scores at the end of unit 2 so her final score isn't reflecting correctly.

I will upload the .story file to the support upload page shortly. Is someone able to assist me with a check?

HI Leslie

The suspend data limits is not the issue, If the user starts the assessment and exits the course before completing it, or reviews the assessment after failing, and closes the course, we want the bookmarking to take them to the beginning of the assessment, instead of the last slide viewed.

Is there a way to do that?

Thank you for your help,

Maureen

Hi Kershia,

I saw you also submitted a case, and my colleague Richard responded to confirm you were reaching the suspend data limits imposed by SCORM 1.2. You'll want to look at publishing for Scorm 2004 - 3rd or 4th edition. They allow a larger 64,000 character limit for the suspend data. You can read more about it here.

Hi Maureen,

The only option to return a user to the point other than where they left off is to disable the resume. That would bring the learner back to the start of the course, and they'd need to retake it.

If you're seeing the learner always return to the results slide or the slide that passes completion upon resuming, it's also likely that the LMS has forced it into Review mode. There is a method to modify that described here.
