I'm working in a project where the student must input a phone number into a numeric text field. The correct value is 913037231000. For some reason, Storyline continues to change this value to 913037262848, usually after I have saved and reopened the file. Does anyone know why this may be happening, and how to stop it? It's really getting annoying.
Not sure what's going on, especially without seeing the slide, but I do see a decimal point in the numeric entry in your screenshot - could be messing stuff up. Are you using a numeric entry or a text entry? You said "a numeric text field."
Telephone numbers aren't really numeric values (I always have fun with this when I'm teaching about text vs. numeric values in Excel and I ask Learners to think about 3 "numbers" they use every day that aren't used for computation). So, I'm thinking you could maybe use a text entry here. If you're already doing that, or if that won't work, could you upload that slide?
BTW, 3 numbers we use daily that are not used for computation, in case some out there were wondering: phone numbers, zip codes, social security (well, latter probably isn't used every day...but y'all get the picture).
That's a good idea! This is my first Storyline production, and when I started at the beginning of the month, I didn't understand that I could have multiple text entry variables and multiple numeric variable. I'll try switching it over. But even still, it seems like such an odd error. Now let's hope my company pushes the PO through before my trial is up!
If your trial finishes before you actually have purchased Storyline, not to worry - you'll be able to access the files you created once you get up and running with your new Storyline license. Just make sure to save often!

Good luck with the project and the PO, Fletcher! Shout out with any other questions.
