Storyline Character Moving with Triggers, Bug?

Apr 03, 2013

Hi,

I'm doing a small animation where I need to have two characters talking and reacting to each other with different facial expressions and postures. I've used the method where I create a number of shapes outside the scene and used them for triggers to change the states. My problem is that when I have a character change posture/poses they move physical in the scene instead of staying in place. For example, I have a character facing another character... he then needs to turn facing the opposite direction and use the pointing stick to show the character something on the chart. When he changes to that position he moves about 1/2 inch on the screen closer to the other character.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? I've created the states by making a duplicate of the original state and then changed the posture and facial expression.

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Brent!

Are you able to align that pose for the state that is moving a half inch? Or have you already tried aligning it with the original state and it jumps to a position other than what's displayed on the slide for that state?

It may be easier to work with this if we can see your project file. Are you able to post the .STORY here so that I can take a look?

Thanks and welcome again!
