Storyline content not displaying in browsers other than chrome

Mar 17, 2014

Hi,

I have created some storyline content and zipped it up for upload to learndash LMS. I am using grassblade to create the links to it. I want to open this in a light box, although if it would just work I would put up with other presentation methods.

The content opens and works fine in both lightbox and new browser window in Google chrome.

In internet explorer 10 and 11 it fails saying 'unable to connect to the server'.

On firefox the content hangs without opening in light box - when opened in a new browser window some of the audio and text doesn't display as expected.

On safari the same issues with display of audio and some text above are also there.

I am confused as to why this is, any clues would be much appreciated as deadlines are looming. What should I be doing to export and display the content in all browsers??

Thank you

Hi Ant and welcome to Heroes!

First you'll want to follow the steps here to publish for LMS.  Then when you're testing your course you'll want to test within your LMS to ensure you don't encounter any local security restrictions  from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.

If you're still experiencing some odd behavior after checking into those, we'd like to take a look at your file and test out the behavior on our end. If you'd prefer to share privately I can send you directions on how to share with me directly.

Hi Ant,

If you'd like to share your course with us there are a few ways. You can post the .story file or a link to the published course here in the forums for us to review and test.

If you're prefer not to share in the forums I can send you directions on how to share it with me privately and you're also always welcome to connect with our Support engineers.

I would prefer not to post something publicly, and have 3 files all of which don't work.

The solution I am working with is to do away with the lightbox - and just open them in another browser window, export these as SCORM rather than tin can files, and to advise all users to use chrome - the only browser where it all works properly.

Could you post or send me details of how to get the files to you please>

Thank you
