Storyline content not playing in iframe within Bootstrap modal in Firefox

Mar 21, 2018

It appears other people have had issues with Firefox in general, and specifically with Bootstrap 3.- modal windows on Firefox, but I've yet to come across any relevant solutions. Is this something that needs to be addressed during the authoring phase, and if not, can you please point me in the right direction? Is it something to do with the version of Storyline we are using?

Working Example:
https://prolearningnetwork.cccco.edu/cuesta-college-completes-successful-business-and-entrepreneurship-pilot-program

It works fine when embedded this way, but when trying to embed in a Bootstrap modal, I just get the spinning wheel unless I force reload the iframe.

I've isolated the modal/iframe from any other scripts that might be loaded from the page. See the example below.

Non-working Bootstrap Modal Example:
https://prolearningnetwork.cccco.edu/elearning-module-test.html

Here is my initial attempt with all CMS scripting in place:
https://prolearningnetwork.cccco.edu/elearning-module-test

The error in the console appears to be pointing to some code in the following file:
https://prolearningnetwork.cccco.edu/sites/default/files/learning_communities/html5/lib/scripts/app.min.js

It points specifically to code that starts as follows:
r=function(i){if("-"===i.charAt(0)){t.push(i)

I do not have access to the authoring tools or content myself, but I'm sure I can send information to the authors in the event something needs to be done on their end.

I'm given storyline files to upload to our website's server and embed them on our site pages using an iframe. The site is built with Drupal.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Andrew,

I'd venture a guess you know a bit more about embedding content in your website and using an iFrame, but I did want to point you to our documentation on how to do this. Outside of those details, there isn't anything more specific to Firefox or Bootstrap (that piece I haven't heard of).

We have lots of folks here in the ELH community who are much more versed on this than I, so I'll leave you in their hands. :-)

Let us know if you need anything else!

This has been resolved.

Apparently, it was an issue with the version of Storyline 3 with which our content creators were using.

They have since updated to Build 3.3.15007.0 and it now works as expected and all our content will be re-published with the new build in the event we need it to display in a modal.

Thanks goes out to the Articulate team for helping with this!
