Do you have a link to a course that we could check? I haven't run into any issues recently with my iPad on iOS 9.0.2 and using mobile safari. Is this a new iPad that came out (like the larger one) or just the updated iOS?
Hi, I have the same issue. I have been using the Articulate app but now using 9.02 when I try to load the Storyline content either in the site we have using Totora or using the direct download link, I get redirect to download the app and the content will not display.
Apple made some changes to the way apps launch in iOS 9, so your Articulate Storyline 2 courses may not launch in the Articulate Mobile Player as you'd expect. We added support for iOS 9 in Update 7 for Storyline 2. See this article for details on how to update your Storyline software and your published courses.
We are also having problems using iPad with Articulate Mobile Player. We have published our eLearning Material with Storyline 2 - Update 9. We selected as Publishing Options use of Articulate Mobile Player and enable for Offline via both Web and LMS - SCORM 1.2.
Problem: Safari/Chrome always prompt to install Articulate Mobile Player when in fact it is already installed in the iPad.
Hope for your assistance on our problem. We have used HTML5 currently to make it work. But we hope to use Articulate Mobile Player.
If I understand it correctly, we can use AMP with any of the following: a.) SCORM 1.2, b.) Tin Can API or c.) just publish it as a web component. So long as the publish option Articulate Mobile Player is checked.
I have also tried the web publish material and uploaded it in one of our website (without log in). The material detects that it needs to run in AMP when viewed mobile device e.g. iPad.
Problem: Safari does not detect AMP is installed at all. It always direct to the App Store. Should the material not launch AMP directly when I click the button LAUNCH rather than go to the App Store? AMP is installed, uninstalled several times and SAFARI does not detect it at all.
Hoping for your feedback and possible guidance on how to resolve it. Saw some articles before that there was a problem with Articulate due to iPad upgrade. But the fix was deployed with Upgrade 7. Our Storyline has already Upgrade 9. Thanks.
Does your LMS require you to login? IF the answer is yes then you cannot use the AMP as the AMP has no way to authenticate the session. For an LMS really only xAPI will work.
If you are on an open website then it should load inside the AMP, if not then there are a few things I would try. Publish with Update 10, delete and reinstall the AMP and update the iPad to the latest version which I believe is 9.3.4
Sorry not sure I understand the question, to pass the link to the Amp the content must available without a login or inside a xAPI environment otherwise it is not possible to load it. It may be you have another problem as well though.
Actually, Safari/Chrome browser in iPad always prompt to install/download Articulate Mobile Player. And when I do click it, it goes to the App Store which has a link to open the already installed AMP application.
You are correct and we previously noted the issue you are having:

That being said, I see where you mention you were utilizing Update 9 at the time.
I would advise to update to the latest, which is now Update 10 (and this will also repair your software if needed), and then republish the content to see if you experience the same behavior.

Hi Rachel!
Hi,
We have used an external company to create our e-learning. I have found a work around from reading these great forums if I use Google Chrome to open them then it works. One of the links I use is - http://dev.mind-click.com/published/Vaillant/installer-ipad/story.htm
Thank you!
Glad that things are working for you now Rachel.
Just an update on this. The latest Storyline update 7: 1509.1408 fixes the original issue (for all of us that don't use the Articulate App).
We've had to go back and re-publish our entire back catalogue (over 550 lessons) because of this - way to go Apple ;-)
Glad to hear that the update was able to assist you Dave. That's a lot of courses.
You may want to consider the published file updater, as shared above in this article, next time. That could have saved you a bit of time.
Many thanks for that Leslie, worth knowing for next time Apple update their software :-)

If you need to login to your LMS then the AMP will not work with Scorm 1.2. The only LMSs that work with AMP are when published for Tincan xAPI
Hi Mark- Phil's right. Here's a breakdown from our User Guide concerning tracking users' results when they're using a mobile device.

Hi Phil,
Noted on that.
How about when I also tried to host the web publish output of the eLearning content in our website and not an LMS which did not require any login.
So is a missing session authentication the reason why my iPad always prompt to install AMP from the Safari browser?
Thanks.

Thanks Phil. We will try that. But just wondering why would Safari not recognize that AMP is already installed just because of an eLearning content.

Is that on an open web address?

Just trying to catch up here Mark :)
