Storyline course not tracking page views; won't complete in LMS
Dec 01, 2016
Hi everyone,
I've built a very basic course with no quiz slides. I want to it to track progress using number of slides viewed, and consider learners complete when they have viewed 24 of 25 slides.
I've published the course to an internal web server and linked it to my company's LMS (SuccessFactors). We've opted not to publish to iCloud because it doesn't contain an exam (the exam is built in SuccessFactors itself).
During testing, the LMS is not recording any course completions.
I've attached screenshots of my publishing settings. Have I missed something?

Hi Conlan
just a couple of things i picked up from your screenshots - looks like there is a mismatch in these two settings.
Also have you checked with your LMS administrator that these are the correct settings to record completion
Here is a troubleshooting blog that may help you.
Thanks for the catch Wendy. I fixed the discrepancy and republished the course, but it still isn't tracking.
Also, thank you for the blog post. I'll be giving it a good look this morning.
Hi Conlan and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
If you have a .story file that you'd like for us to take a look at, please feel free to share so that we can further assist you.
Are you able to re-create this issue if you upload to SCORM Cloud or is the issue limited to your LMS?
I have seen an issue when tracking by slides viewed if there is branching within your course. Be sure that you are setting it to the lowest number of slides that the user may go through.
As an experiment, we published the course to iCloud. The course records completion properly from there. Thoughts?
Hi Leslie,
I uploaded the file to our LMS' cloud solution (iContent) and the issue was resolved. Unfortunately we only have a finite number of slot to upload content into so this won't be a sustainable workaround.
I'll need to get permission from my company before I can upload the file for you to look at. Once I have the blessing of our IT security team, I'll do so.
I'm not familiar with iContent/iCloud. I would still advise to test via SCORM Cloud if you can. If you are unable to replicate, it would be moreso a follow up with your LMS team versus anything I could assist with.
Hi Conlan
if it's reporting correctly in Scormcloud then it is probably a setting in Success Factors. Your admin should be able to confirm what it should be - otherwise hopefully the vendor can advise.
If your search the forum using 'Success Factors' you'll see loads of posts about similar issues - you may find something helpful there. Good luck.
Okay, I'll do some more digging and come back to you all. Thanks!
