Storyline crashes every few minutes

Hello! I just downloaded a trial of Storyline and I am trying to create a course to show my boss if this product is what we are looking for. I worked in it for a few hours yesterday and it crashed about every 10 minutes. I opened it today and worked for about 5 mins and started crashing again! I am getting very frustrated!!! Is this a bug? Is anyone else having this issue? Can I do anything to fix it? Do we know if Articulate is working to fix the bug (if that's what is is). Anything help would be great!! I think the product looks great and is what I have been looking for but in the day and a 1/2 that I have used it, I am already thinking about uninstalling and moving to something else. :o(

PS. it crashes very time I insert a picture or try to do something in the timeline or try to add a text box. Basically, everything time I try to do anything.

Hey Lindsay, welcome!

That's definitely unexpected behavior for Storyline, and sorry that you're experiencing it. Please be sure you're following some basic rules to prevent strange behavior:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior. 
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Also, if your Storyline software is not working properly, a simple repair may fix the problem. If not, please feel free to submit a ticket to our support team for additional help.
