I am using the drag and drop feature to create an interaction where the user will need to drag symbols to create an image and because I have a large amount of symbol options they can choose from I wanted to create tabs where I could differentiate them by category. Is there a way to create a tab in drag and drop, and if so, how would I do it? For example, the image below. Can I do this within drag and drop?
I'm not seeing an image to look at. In general though, I'm thinking that what you're trying to do isn't currently possible. It sounds like you want to create tab layers to organize your objects. Unfortunately, you can't target those objects to drop zones on the base layer in a drag and drop type of activity.
Sorry I thought I attached the image. So something like what you see below, where I could create tabs and click on them, to be able to organize images. To have some images on one tab and separate images on another tab. So there is no options for this with drag and drop?
Here's an idea that *might* help. Discovered this today when playing with something else. If you add your objects to a scroll panel, you could scroll through your drag objects and cover many objects in the same space. You could categorize your objects. There's a neat re-attachment behavior based on where the scroll box is. Kind of a cool method.
Thanks for all the tips guys. I appreciate the responses. I have one more question still having to do with drag and drop. I want to place the drag and drop interaction in my Powerpoint presentation which I publish online throught articulate and I wanted to know if there is a way to make the presentation progress from the last interaction slide to the next Powerpoint slide. Is there a way to put a next button or something in the drag and drop so that once it is complete I can continue to the next slide without having to press the next button on the bottom of the screen?

Malisa,
As I ponder your idea though, I really like it and think you should submit a feature request!

Malisa,
No. Unfortunately, all of your drag objects need to be on the base layer.

Okay, thanks for your help Mike.
Have a great day.

See the attached .story file.
There's some strangeness to the example above. If you add everything to the scrolling panel at once, it behaves better. See this second example.
Nice Steve!
I really like that idea. Malisa, to apply Steve's idea to your situation, I'm thinking something like this....
