Is there any way to determine which font Storyline was set to use before it's substituted?
I have a course that my client says was built using a font I have installed on my machine and it keeps getting switched to Arial or Univers. I'm wondering if the client is mistaken about the original font. The course did not have any styles set up.
Hi John - Could you share a bit more information here? I'm not sure what you mean by font substitution. Fonts are embedded in the course once published and that is what the end user will see regardless of fonts available on individual systems. The nuance being variable references sometimes.
I'm editing a course created by someone who is no longer available and when I open the .story file on my computer I see Arial. When I look at the course live on the LMS where it was published by the original developer, it's not Arial. I assume Storyline is substituting Arial for the original font.
I'd really like to know the name of the original font. Is there a way I can get that either in Storyline or in the published files?
Thanks for sharing that solution here, John! Glad you were able to get that sorted out. For anyone who runs across this thread in the future, you can locate the fonts.xml file in the story_content folder of your zipped published output.

Hi Leslie. Thanks for getting back to me.

So we've found the way to get a font list...there is a font.xml file published with the course.
Thanks, John, for following up on this! That's helpful for folks to know.
