Storyline Hangs at startup
May 29, 2012
I have a coruse a custoemr is viewing. It works for me but when they launch it the spinner starts and it never progresses. They are using IE version 8.
I have suggested that they need to enable pop-ups and cookies. They are running the course locally as an attempt to overcome possible slow network issues.
Still all they get is the spinning symbol when the course tries to start.
Any ideas of what might be the cause?

When they are running the course locally is it on their PC or from something like a network drive?
I've also seen this in multiple browsers. Haven't yet figured out a solid fix or pattern.
Have also seen the 'Next' button fail to work on a certain slide in one particular course - it then crashes the course. Tis very odd, especially as it plays perfectly well on another machine with the exact same browser!

They are running on their PC. Is there an issue with running Storyline on a PC versus a netowrk drive?
Network or drives can sometimes be notoriously slow when viewing content or may not have certain types of content set up on it to be delivered or may have permissions to work around. For that reason, I prefer to always have folks view content from a true web server.
Problem solved the user had an issue with the setup of Flash Player. After resolving that the coruse ran okay.
