Storyline is unable to import powerpoints which it was able to yesterday. Been though the help none of the issues apply please explain why it could of broken. The only thing I can think of is the windows update that I did today.
And I can't roll it back our system is auto updated by are network admin and I would have to get special permissions which could take weeks or months to get sorted

Odd? Have you tried rolling back the update?
If you share the file I'd gladly give it a try.

Have you tried repairing or reinstalling Storyline? Are the PowerPoints located on your local harddrive?
