Storyline interface

May 09, 2012

Hi, I'm just doing the 30 day evaluatino of Storyline, and I love it! I just wanted to know if there's an easy way to hide the navigation controls completely in the interface.

I noticed an article on here that said you could make the whole thing transparent. Do I need to do that to every single colour element in order to make it work? or is there something somewhere that I'm missing?

Hi Chris,

The easiest way to make all the navigation controls hidden is to disable them from within Player Properties.

Once you have disabled all of the controls within Player Properties the only remaining buttons will be the Previous, Next, and Submit buttons that will appear based on the Slide that you are viewing.  You can remove these buttons by selecting all the slides in your project in Story View and deselecting the Prev, Next, and Submit options:

Now that these buttons have been removed, your project will be published without any navigation controls and with a 10px border. around your slide content.  To remove the content border you will need to go back to Player Properties, click on Colors & Effects, and set the values of base >> bg, base >> border, and base >> slide_bg to be completely transparent:

After completing these steps your content should appear like the image below:

Welcome to the community, Dorothy!

There will still be a border, correct. Even if you make it transparent, it will still exist.

Personally, what I like to do is modify the page background color and then match that color with the player. It's just as simple as making the border transparent, but I just prefer using this option instead. This just seems to work better for me, but it's really a matter of preference.
