Storyline - jumping to different slides based on pass or fail

Mar 07, 2017

I just recently switched from Studio to Storyline and I am going crazy trying to figure out how from the results slide how to get the user to jump to one slide if they fail or another slide if they pass.  How is this done in Storyline?

Hi Dawn and welcome to Storyline!

When you insert a Result slide there will be a success and fail layer automatically created.

Depending on the score, one of those layers will display.  You can then navigate from the layer to another slide if you wish to.

Here is a tutorial that might explain it better but feel free to share you .story file if you are still having issues.

Thanks you for the reply, but that did not help. I tried adding triggers directly to Fail and Pass slides that when Next was clicked to jump to the appropriate slide. The triggers disappeared. As you can see below, I then tried to create triggers for the Results slide and that is not working either.

Thanks.

Hi Dawn

just a note when you reply via email it displays your entire email signature in the post so you can come in and edit to remove if you wish.  Also, anything you attach via email doesn't display in the post, so the image you attached isn't visible here.

Can you perhaps share the .story file and someone can take a look to try and help you.

Are you using SL2 or SL360?

I attached the story file to this response. Please let me know if that is not the correct way to submit it. It is a small file with 5 dummy questions and an End of Assessment slide and Congratulations slide. When the user fails, they should be directed to the End of Assessment slide; if passes go to the Congratulations slide.

Thanks for looking at the file.

Dawn
