Storyline lightbox will not close

Sep 27, 2021

I have a storyline 360 module and all the buttons work except the close course or close lightbox.  They work inside storyline line, just not when i publish it. Ive downloaded sample storyline files and i have the same issue. This is in Mobile view.

Hi, Thomas!

I have some great news to share! We have released a new update for Storyline 360 (Build 3.78.30680.0). An enhancement that's included in this update:

  •  Storyline blocks in Rise 360 courses now display full-screen on mobile devices when player controls are turned off.

Please update Storyline 360 to the latest version to take full advantage of this feature.

If you have any questions, please let us know, and we'll be happy to help! You can reach out here or privately in a support case.

Hello Thomas!

I'm happy to help. There aren't any triggers to lightbox slides in the .story file that you've attached.

For testing, I added a trigger on the first slide to lightbox the second slide when the timeline reached two seconds. Then I published it for the Web and tested the course on an iPhone 11 using iOS 14.7.1. It worked as expected. I've attached the screen recording to this reply.

Let me know if you have additional questions!

So maybe im not explaining it well, and im new to Articualte360. So i am publishing this to Rise360. When this is viewed in Rise360 on a mobile device a play button has to be pushed for it to play. Once it plays it pops up into a lightbox. It can be closed via the X in the corner, but the X isnt very noticeable. I would like for the user to be able to click a close button within the slide and go back to the Rise 360 course. Does that make sense?

Hello Thomas!

Thank you so much for adding those additional details! Yes, that makes sense. Currently, there isn't another way to exit a Storyline block other than using the "X" button that appears. However, we do have a feature request logged to change the appearance of the "X" to make it more noticeable. I've linked this conversation to the report to update you if that feature is added to our roadmap.

We don't have a feature logged for including a close button on a slide. Do you mind sharing this with us in the form of a feature request?
