Storyline - Marker icon options.

Hey!
I'm very new to authoring e-learning so I hope I describe this correctly.
In Storyline 360 I have inserted markers for quite a few of my slides. I would like to know a couple of things:
1. Can I change the font and colour of the number inside of an icon or is it easier to make my own images to use?
2. Is there a way, maybe a trigger, that I can have an icon stop pulsing once it has been clicked on or hovered over so there is an acknowledgement that it has been looked at?
I'll likely have many more questions but this would be a useful start. Thanks!

Hi Carla,
1. you can change the colour of the number inside the marker, however, I am not aware that you can change the font;
2. I think the easiest way to stop the icon pulsing, is actually by layering two copies of the same marker on top of each other (the top with the pulse, and the bottom with no pulse). Then add a trigger that 'changes the state of the pulsing marker to hidden, when it is hovered over/clicked on'.
Please see attached example to demonstrate.
Hope this helps. Cheers Christine
Hey Christine,
Thanks for your prompt response.
1. Awesome how do I do this?
2. That helps hugely thank you. I'm getting used to the capability of triggers!
Hi Carla!
To change the marker icon color, you'll want to click the Marker Tools Format tab, then Marker Styles, then Icon Color. I hope that helps!
Awesome thank you Alyssa!
I'm using the numbered markers and am wondering how I can get additional ones beyond 20? I need three more (21, 22, 23) --- I can't seem to figure out how to edit the number that is inside the marker. Any advice?
Hi Lisa,
The numbered markers only go up to 20, so if you'd need higher numbers you may want to look at adding a custom image over top the existing marker or creating your own markers using shapes, states/layers to display the content.
I was able to use a text box to get the number to appear in the marker, but when I hover over the marker, the number disappears (I'm assuming it is hiding behind the marker?) Is there an easy way to prevent that from happening?
Hi Lisa,
Yes, it'll hide behind the marker as the marker is coming to the front of the view once you hover. If you're using a blank marker (overlaid with the text box) that may be the best option and hopefully, it's not confusing to your learners.
You could also look at creating your own custom markers using an image fill. I took a quick Peek recording of the steps here for you (this would work for Storyline 3 or 360).
