Storyline - Missing Images during LMS Playback

Oct 18, 2012

Hello,

I have what appears to be an intermittent problem that I'm hoping the community may be able to help with.  I am almost completed with my current course and I've been receiving reports that not all of my reviewers are seeing all of the graphics (mostly .PNG) images.  Supporting call-out shapes are appearing with no issues.

The reviewers are taking the course through an LMS (TotalLMS 7.6, SCORM 1.2 delivery) and using IE8.  When I review the course locally and through the LMS I'm unable to replicate their experience.  I have even exported the course to a Word document and have verified that all the images appear correctly.

I have already ruled out timeline / trigger issues.

Thank you

I'm having the same problem with images not appearing, even though I'm publishing using the "Web" option, not LMS. I see the images when I run on my hard drive, but they are not appearing when I'm running from a host server. I have updated to the latest update (5) that says that there is a fix for HTML5. I want to publish to HTML5 as we want users to view the training on mobile devices.

Thanks for your assistance in advance.

Hi Dianne,

Are you able to share your .story file with us so that we can take a look? Also, update 5 did include a number of updates, and a lot for HTML5 detailed here.  If there is a specific issue that you're experiencing with HTML5 could you share a bit more about what's happening? It's also worth noting that the supported browsers for viewing content are detailed here and currently we don't support Android.

This is an old post, but I've got this exact issue.  All kinds of copied images in my learning, upload to LMS, when I look at the published item looks great, but then on LMS when I pull back down the learning is incredibly ugly.  Lots of the images are gone, colours are off, and my training is useless as is.  There must be something I'm doing wrong, but I don't know what.  When I published for review it was perfect.  I've tried uploading several times, I've cleared Internet files, I'm out of ideas.

Hi Lauren,

Here are the files.

A coworker is helping me manually re-do the course in Rise as well, as the problem is just not apparent and I'm now overdue on delivery.

Thank you,

Hi Beth,

No worries! It looks like you've opened a case with our support team, and Jopney sent you a link to upload your file. Go ahead and use that link and keep at it with her to get to the root of the issue!

By the way, it looks like you may have replied by email to this discussion where your contact information came through. This Peek video will show you how to edit it out if you’d like!

Hi Nick,

I'm feeling for you, as it was so frustrating.  I'd ask the support team if they can resolve for you.  They spent a good bit of time trying to help me.

My issue was never corrected, I gave up and used other software to recreate the curriculum.  Part of my team guessed maybe the file was corrupt. That software worked fine and I've stopped using Storyline now, just can afford to lose that much time.

Sorry I don't have a quick fix to share.

Beth

Hi Nick,

I verified that it is the e-mail we have on record for you.

So, a couple of things:

  1. You can remove your e-mail from your reply above if you need to remove it from the public forum.
  2. Please check your spam/junk folder to see if the reply I sent yesterday and/or the second reply I sent just now may have landed there. The e-mail will be from support@articulate.com.

Thanks for keeping in touch and please do let me know if you are still not receiving them.
