Storyline not connecting to Internet

Jul 25, 2012

This may be a local problem with corporate servers, but I find that every so often when I open Articulate it does not connect to the Internet even though I can use IE or FireFox. I will check with our internal support but wondered if other people were having a similar problem.

I was following the training on the opening window but those links are not available if Articulate thinks it cannot connect to the Internet. I get a message that says "When you are connected to the Internet, ..." Is there anyway to have Articulate open with FireFox and not Internet Explorer? At least that way I could rely on history to reconnect me to the training.

Thanks.

Angela,

I was not able to get Articulate Storyline to connect to the Internet while at work. I was advised to change the settings so I am not using the corporate proxy server but that did not change Storyline. It works fine for me at home but not at work. I cannot change my default browser at work to Firefox so I continue to use IE 8.

The good news is I can still use Storyline and publish the results. I can also visit the online help through the browser and now that I am past the beginning tutorials I don't need them on the opening Articulate Storyline screen.

I guess if it was very important I could get an exception from our corporate IT department but I can do everything I need to get done.

Sorry this does not answer your question.

This was something that I reported back in the beta, was using email and logging the problem with Articulate while travelling on a train, yet SL application said I was not connected.

I remember there were others having the issue as well, but not heard about it for a while, last thread was http://community.articulate.com/forums/p/16346/93365.aspx#93365
