Storyline Not Generating Final Files

Oct 02, 2013

I have been testing Storyline as a replacement to Articulate Presenter and to be honest I am having the worst time getting something published.  The storyline file has thirty slides with about 6 slides having screen capture video in them -the longest video being 2 minutes and 30 seconds.  I can preview the files and they run fine but as soon as I try to publish it locally  Storyline seems to get stuck and never finish creating the files.  This morning I left it to run and it when for 4 hours and the progress bar was still in the same spot.  I finally had to force quit the program to get Articulate Storyline to quit.  I pulled the videos out and then processed the storyline and it worked.  I then created one two minute screen capture and tried to publish the file to make sure it works and again after 20 minutes the file still hasn't completed. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Colin, I'm having the same problems recently.

Such issues may depend on software usage of .net components, flash components/plugins, etc.

For instance, my Copy of storyline is not working properly since I installed an evaluation copy of Flipping book PDF publisher, a useful tool that I'm evaluating.

I know that many tools are pretty "invasive" , so I'll have to uninstall this software, clean my registry/ temporary Windows files, uninstall and reinstall Storyline.

Hope it helps...

Thank you Stefano and Ashley,

I ended up going back into Storyline and deleting any files that had MP4 files and then started to publish the files and I had no problems.  I am not sure if it was just too much for Storyline to process or I just had one difficult video file.  I have since create new video files one at a time and then save and try publishing after each one and it seems to be working now.  I do appreciate the offers to help.
